“I love my job and the good I can bring to my patients’ lives by helping them conceive their desired baby and helping women who suffered from gynaecological problems.”
Dr Karen Kong is an expert in the fields of infertility and reproductive surgery. She is the only New South Wales gynaecologist who holds the dual Fellowship training in CREI (Certificate in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility) and AGES (Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery). These were completed at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne and St George Hospital in Sydney. She holds the Masters in Reproductive Medicine from the University of New South Wales. In addition, she has a major commitment to the training of medical students and junior doctors in her speciality. She is a conjoint lecturer at UNSW.
Her expertise focuses not only on assisted reproductive treatments but particularly on the management of surgical causes of infertility, namely endometriosis and fibroids. She continues to deliver babies at St George Private Hospital, enabling care from conception to delivery for her patients. She consults at Kogarah and Potts Point and is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.
Her personalised approach makes that difficult journey as easy as possible. Her particular interests include the management of fibroids and endometriosis both medically and surgically, PCOS and recurrent miscarriage.
Karen consults at Potts Point and Kogarah clinics. She performs surgery at St Luke’s Hospital, Hurstville Private Hospital, St George Private and Public Hospitals.
