Dr Philip Hall

After twenty five years in private specialist practice in Ballarat, Victoria, Dr Philip Hall and his wife Lesley have recently escaped their two  adult children and decided to set up home in sunny Brisbane.    While Philip is practising “State of the Art”  fertility medicine, he is also in his spare time utilising his creative skills to undertake a Bachelor of Fine Art at the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University.

Philip brings a wealth of experience in fertility management and ART to the team at Life Fertility Clinic.  His under graduate and post graduate studies were completed at Monash University under the tutelage of Professor Carl Wood,  Australia’s world leading IVF pioneer.   After completing additional training in the United Kingdom,  Philip returned to Australia in 1984 to establish a fertility practice in rural Victoria in association with Monash IVF and Professor Carl Wood.  This practice offered fertility management for patients throughout central and western Victoria for  the next decade.   Subsequently he was an associated clinician from the inception of Ballarat IVF.

Naturally Philip’s skills as an experienced rural specialist are valued greatly by his peers within the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists  and he holds the position of  Chairman of Provincial Practice Visits (a Quality Assurance Program for RANZCOG) and was a member of College Council until recently.

Philip values continuing professional education and complemented his extensive clinical experience by undertaking an academic program of study in a Masters of Reproductive Medicine at the University of Western Sydney.  This course was conducted by Professor Geoff Driscoll.

As well as interests in reproductive medicine including age-related fertility issues along with male factor infertility, Philip offers his extensive experience in the treatment of polycystic ovaries, endometriosis and premature menopause.   Philip’s clinical expertise is complemented by his skills as a laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgeon.   He is able to offer treatments for the pelvic floor including prolapse and incontinence.  Along with these skills he is also experienced in the  management of abnormal PAP smears. He is highly supportive of complementary medicine in the holistic management of fertility problems.

Furthermore Philip was formally the head of the Sexual Counselling Clinic at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne and is very able to offer support  with psychosomatic aspects  of fertility management in his patients’ quests to achieve their dreams.
