Dr Sonya Jessup

Dr Sonya Jessup is an experienced fertility specialist and a Director of Life Fertility Clinic.  Sonya  obtained her Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne and has spent her postgraduate years focusing specifically in Fertility Medicine. Initially based at Melbourne IVF, she was then accepted for subspecialty training as part of the Certificate in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) and spent three post-fellowship years working in reproductive medicine associated with the Auckland University, School of Medicine.

Sonya believes that each person and every couple is unique.

Different circumstances and different problems require individualised fertility care. Dr Jessup’s strong interest in reproductive medicine has enabled her to gain broad experience in all aspects of both male and female fertility management. The initial assessment is detailed and focuses not only on  a couples’ fertility and medical history, but also places  emphasis on the impact of home and work constraints. As much as possible, clinic visits, surgery dates and the timing of IVF or other treatment cycles are scheduled to be as convenient as possible.

Sometimes patients wish to have a full fertility assessment to gain an understanding of why there is a delay in conception but,  are not  seeking treatment at that point in time. Other couples attend hoping to start an IVF cycle as soon as possible. Dr Jessup offers both educational and supportive care through to advanced fertility treatments with the assurance of the highest standards of laboratory techniques. Working together with an expert team of on-site nursing, scientific staff and alternative health providers, the relaxed non-hospital environment helps make for a positive overall experience.

Sonya offers a comprehensive range of fertility services including in-vitro fertilisation (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), intrauterine sperm injection (IUI), pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) , testicular sperm retrieval (TESA), donor egg and sperm cycles, treatments for single women and same-sex couples, surrogacy and all associated surgical treatments.
